The Algarve and the Costa Del Sol understandably remain the most popular winter golfing destinations, due primarily to the quality and number of courses and the accessibility of Faro and Malaga from all areas of the UK.  But there are very viable alternatives to Portugal and mainland Spain, and Majorca is most certainly one of them.

The all important climate is excellent with year round sunshine, hot by summer, pleasantly warm by winter.  The Island itself is beautiful, the vegetation, the mountains, the coast and all within an hours drive from one side of Majorca to the other.  But of course, it's the golf that matters with a golfing holiday.  Courses such as Andratx, Canyamel, Poniente, Son Antem and Son Vida stand shoulder to shoulder in terms of quality with the Vilamoura's, La Cala's and Mijas' of the golfing world.  The courses are grouped in two areas of the Island, the main cluster being to the south west of the Island, with a smaller concentration of courses to the north east.

Majorca as a golf destination is more expensive than the Algarve and the Costa del Sol, but you will experience fine courses, excellent hotels, a fantastic climate and a touch of class that comes with Island life.
